miAdidas Shoe Customization Discontinued by Adidas

miAdidas Custom Shoes Adidas has made the decision to discontinue its online customization platform, MiAdidas. The popular service by the German shoe brand allowed customers to create their own personalized version of popular shoe models like the Superstar, Stan Smith, and Ultra Boost.

After being online for almost 20 years since it’s beginning in 2000, Adidas stated that they believe that the future of customization lies in co-creation. While many users are extremely disappointed about this decision there are also comments stating that miAdidas offered less colors and customization options than other brands like Nike or New Balance.

There have been over 150 customizable shoes offered on the miAdidas website, which ranged from the originals like the Samba and Superstar to golf shoes and outdoor shoes. miAdidas offered a few customizable shoes for kids in cute designs as well. The miAdidas kids’ shoes were priced at $50, while adult-sized shoes had a price range between $85 and $260 USD.

Production and delivery of the custom miAdidas shoes took 3 to 4 weeks and they had a flat rate fee of $12 for shipping. UK customers were able to order via the UK website www.adidas.co.uk/customise and customers from other countries had the same option to place international orders on the respective Adidas website of their country.
