One of the most iconic logos on sport shoes and sportswear is the three stripes or parallel bars of the acclaimed sports brand Adidas. The name Adidas was derived from its founder Adolf Dassler. It is a combination of his first name Adi and last name Das. The company was founded in 1948 and is based in Herzogenaurach, Germany.

Adidas has gone through some major setbacks throughout the decades but has still managed to survive and stay afloat. They do constant changes and developments to make sure they keep up with the changing times and the demands of the consumers. Mi Adidas is one of the brand’s great efforts to give back to their customers – an opportunity to design their own pair of custom kicks.

There are over 150 customizable shoes offered in the website, which range from the originals like the Samba and Superstar to golf shoes and outdoor shoes. They also have a few customizable pairs for kids that have cute designs. The kids’ shoes are priced at $50, while adult-sized shoes have a price range of $85 – $260.

While the Adidas website does offer a great number of customizable shoes as well as customizable shoe parts, their miAdidas DIY shoe design tool needs a bit of patience. First off, it takes a while to load especially when doing a zoom in and out on the product. Secondly, there could be a little confusion for first time users in the customization because there is no set sequencing for the steps during the whole process. Unlike other DIY systems, the steps are not numbered so you can go as you please.

However, you will be able to customize a lot of the shoe parts including the rear and front quarters, stripes and heel cap, stitching, lining, laces, toe cap, tongue, eyelets and outsoles. You can also do further personalization by adding lace jewels, sports team logos or personal ID text, all with no additional charge. Prints like polka dots, camo and street art can also be incorporated in the design. The product image is able to display a good representation of your chosen design styles.

miAdidas production and delivery time

miAdidas Custom ShoesProduction and delivery takes 3 to 4 weeks and they have a flat rate fee of $12 for shipping. UK customers can order via the UK website and other countries have the same option to place international orders on the respective Adidas website of their country. Unfortunately Adidas does not ship to APO, FPO and PO Boxes.

Because each product will be made individually according to your orders, returns and exchanges are not accepted except for reasons of manufacturing defects.

miAdidas customized kicks are always cool and very wearable. As long as you have a good, imaginative eye for style, you should be able to create a one-of-a-kind pair of custom shoes that showcases your taste. Despite some minor flaws in their DIY design software, the miAdidas website still offers the essential tools to make a good design.

miAdidas alternatives for custom shoes
